Nepal’s first-of-its-kind Math Museum program is a groundbreaking initiative that brings mathematics out of textbooks and into physical classrooms where students can touch, build, and explore.
Nepal’s First Math Museum Program
Designed to ignite mathematical curiosity, foster student-led learning, support teachers, and transform traditional learning culture, Embark UnMath proudly introduces its 5-day, 8-week immersive program: The Math Museum.
The program unfolds in three key phases, and the students and teachers are involved at every stage. The first phase, ‘EXPLORE!’, revolves around scoping the school and identifying potential locations for museum installations. Next comes ‘INSTALLATION!’, where for over two days, the UnMath team will install the custom-designed exhibits throughout the school.
Then comes the final phase, ‘LET’S SPEAK MATH!’ which marks the grand opening of the museum. An exciting, community-facing event that parents, students, teachers, and the media will be invited to experience. Additionally, the UnMath team will continue to provide after-installation support for up to 6 months following the event, helping teachers and students fully integrate the exhibits into daily learning.
To make the most of the Math Museum program, participating schools are asked to nominate 10 enthusiastic students from across grade levels, allocate suitable indoor or semi-outdoor spaces for exhibit installations, assign a dedicated point-of-contact teacher, and actively support the planning and coordination of the museum’s launch event.
The Math Museum is a lasting transformation that turns schools into vibrant, interactive math spaces. It enhances student learning through hands-on exploration, builds leadership and communication skills, equips teachers with creative teaching tools, and strengthens the school’s identity as an innovative, community-engaged institution.
The program offers exceptional long-term value by creating a permanent, interactive learning space that enhances student engagement and strengthens the school’s academic identity.
Whether you’re a school leader, educator, or parent, the Math Museum is your chance to help children fall in love with math, not just as a subject, but as a story they help tell.
