These scholarships were given to students from marginalized communities, including those with disabilities, former bonded laborers (Kamlaris), street children, HIV-affected individuals, and the Vadi community. Each student received NPR 50,000 annually.
Non-Residential Scholarships for Over 15 Lakh Students
The Ministry also provided non-residential scholarships worth NPR 627 million to 1.54 million students. These scholarships were aimed at students from various backgrounds, promoting inclusive access to education. The Ministry emphasized its commitment to supporting a wide range of students through these financial aids.
Special Scholarships for Girls in Karnali
As part of its targeted efforts, the Ministry introduced a special scholarship package under the Karnali Package. Girls studying in grades 1 to 5 in the Karnali region will receive an annual scholarship of NPR 1,000. This initiative focuses on promoting education for girls in remote areas, particularly in the Karnali region.
Promoting Equal Opportunities in Education
The Ministry’s scholarship program aims to offer financial support to students from all backgrounds, ensuring they have the opportunity to pursue education without economic barriers. This move highlights the government’s commitment to reducing disparities and providing equal educational opportunities across Nepal.
The distribution of these scholarships is a significant step in improving access to education, especially for marginalized and disadvantaged groups. By providing these funds, the Ministry is making a meaningful impact in students’ lives, supporting their educational journeys and helping them achieve their academic goals.
The scholarship program is part of the government’s broader efforts to ensure that every student, regardless of their background or financial situation, has the chance to receive a quality education and build a better future.
