In a significant move ahead of the highly anticipated Nepal Super League (NSL) season, FC Chitwan has secured the services of Nepal’s national team goalkeeper, Vishal Shrestha, as their marquee player. The NSL, Nepal’s premier franchise football league, is set to captivate football fans as it commences on November 24, 2023, and runs through to December 14, 2023.

The official contract signing ceremony took place today, with goalkeeper Vishal Shrestha and FC Chitwan’s president, Sachin Dhakal, putting pen to paper. The contract was executed under the auspices of Game One Pvt Ltd, the club’s parent company, signaling the club’s commitment to building a formidable team for the NSL.

The Nepal Super League is a groundbreaking initiative in Nepali football, aiming to elevate the country’s footballing standards and provide a platform for local talent to shine. The NSL matches will be hosted at the iconic Dashrath Stadium, which is expected to witness an electric atmosphere throughout the tournament.

Nine teams are set to compete in the inaugural NSL season, promising a fierce battle for supremacy. Alongside FC Chitwan, the participating teams include Kathmandu Rayzrs FC, Lalitpur City FC, Pokhara Thunders, Butwal Lumbini F.C., Dhangadhi FC, Birgunj United, Jhapa FC, and Sporting Ilam. Football enthusiasts from all corners of Nepal are eagerly awaiting the kick-off of this historic league.

Vishal Shrestha’s signing with FC Chitwan as the marquee player adds a layer of excitement to the tournament. The goalkeeper, who has represented Nepal on the international stage, brings experience, skill, and leadership to the team, making FC Chitwan a strong contender in the NSL.
