NOC Dashain fuel supply
28th September 2025, Kathmandu
NOC Dashain fuel supply is guaranteed this festive season. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented a rotational schedule for its depots and branch offices.
NOC Dashain fuel supply
This arrangement ensures the smooth supply of essential petroleum products throughout the upcoming major festival, Dashain. This proactive measure prevents potential shortages during peak travel times.
Rotational Schedule Details for NOC Depots
The Dashain holidays are scheduled to span six days this year. The NOC operates a total of 13 branch and depot offices nationwide. A rotation system has been established to maintain consistent product distribution.
Out of the 13 facilities, two major offices will remain operational for the longest duration. The Birgunj branch office and the Dang depot will open for four days each. This higher frequency addresses their significant regional supply demands.
Other regional offices have slightly shorter operating periods. The Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim regional offices will open for three days each. The remaining offices will provide service for a minimum of two days, following their pre-set schedules. This ensures continuous product access across the country.
The Dipayal branch office will operate on an “as needed” basis. The corporation confirmed this arrangement to address any emergency demands that might arise in the Far-Western region.
Ensuring Dealer and Transporter Convenience
Recognizing the crucial role of traders and transporters, the NOC has put systems in place for seamless product collection. Even when offices close, supply remains a priority.
The corporation has assigned specific contact persons for each depot location. Petroleum traders and transporters must contact the designated individuals.
This procedure allows them to collect petroleum products from the depots at the stipulated times. This streamlined process minimizes delays in the distribution chain.
Why the Rotational Strategy is Essential
The annual Dashain festival sees a massive increase in vehicular movement. Millions of people travel from cities to their home villages. This migration significantly increases demand for petrol and diesel.
The NOC’s strategy of keeping the depots open on a rotational basis is a direct response to this predictable surge in demand.
A complete closure of all depots could cause major fuel shortages. This would disrupt holiday travel and cause significant public inconvenience. By actively managing the NOC Dashain depot operating hours, the corporation mitigates the risk of supply disruptions.
Furthermore, this arrangement supports essential services that must operate even during the holidays. It ensures that public transport, emergency services, and other crucial sectors have uninterrupted access to fuel. The NOC is committed to ensuring that the festive cheer is not dampened by logistical challenges.
NOC’s Commitment to Smooth Supply
The Nepal Oil Corporation is actively working to manage the supply chain effectively. They have instructed all relevant employees to be deployed at the concerned depots on their scheduled holidays. This dedication is key to maintaining the smooth operation of the supply system.
The corporation also proactively requested dealers to collect sufficient fuel stocks beforehand. They assured the public and the industry that they are prepared to meet the expected increase in demand.
There are sufficient stocks of petroleum products, and the logistics are in place to move the product from depots to pumps efficiently.
In summary, the rotational opening of depots and the designation of contact personnel underscore the NOC’s firm commitment. They are working hard to guarantee a continuous and smooth fuel supply during Dashain, making the festive travel of millions worry-free.
