NRNA MBBS Full Scholarship
14th December 2025, Kathmandu
The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), in a major educational initiative, has partnered with Asia International University and Uzbekistan to provide a crucial NRNA MBBS Full Scholarship to two deserving Nepali students.
NRNA MBBS Full Scholarship
This effort aims to empower academically gifted students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring they can pursue medical education without financial constraints.
Addressing the Need for Medical Professionals
The scholarship is specifically targeted at two high-achieving Nepali students who have successfully passed the Medical Education Commission (MEC) entrance examination.
By focusing on those who have already demonstrated academic aptitude, the program ensures the investment is made in dedicated future healthcare professionals. This strategic selection process is vital for the long-term success of the initiative.
The Application and Examination Process
Aspiring candidates must submit their applications by December 23. This tight deadline encourages prompt action from interested students. The selection exam itself is scheduled for January 3, 2026.
This examination will be held at Pulchowk Engineering Campus, Lalitpur. Questions for the exam will strictly adhere to the standards and structure set by the Medical Education Commission (MEC). Students should begin their preparation immediately to maximize their chances.
A Commitment to National Healthcare Service
The agreement carries a significant condition: after completing their MBBS studies, the two scholarship recipients must return to Nepal. They are required to serve in the country’s health sector for a minimum of two years.
This mandatory service component ensures that the international investment directly benefits Nepali citizens and helps bridge the current gap in local healthcare access. The NRNA believes this commitment is crucial for national development.
University Covers All Expenses
A significant aspect of the NRNA MBBS Full Scholarship is its comprehensive nature. Asia International University will cover all expenses for the two students throughout their entire course of study.
This full coverage removes the entire financial burden from the students and their families, allowing them to focus completely on their rigorous medical training. This level of support highlights the commitment of the NRNA and its partners.
Leveraging Global Partnerships for Local Impact
The NRNA’s successful collaboration with international educational bodies demonstrates the power of the global Nepali diaspora. By leveraging these partnerships, the association can create opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable domestically.
This initiative not only provides an education but also acts as a vital channel for reverse brain drain, ensuring that qualified professionals return to serve their homeland.
Impact on Nepal’s Healthcare Future
This scholarship initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the expansion of healthcare access across Nepal. The country faces an ongoing challenge in recruiting and retaining skilled medical personnel, especially in rural and underserved areas.
By producing two fully-trained doctors who are committed to mandatory service, the program will directly contribute to addressing the shortage of healthcare workers. It is a targeted, impactful solution to a national problem.
The NRNA remains optimistic that this program will inspire other organizations to undertake similar impactful educational initiatives. The long-term vision is to create a sustainable pipeline of talent for the nation’s health infrastructure.
