Nepal Telecom (NTC) has officially launched a complimentary Free Wi-Fi internet service for passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, effective Kartik 11, 2082 (October 28, 2025).
NTC Free Wi-Fi Service
This initiative falls under the company’s extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to provide accessible internet connectivity across major national and international airports.
The service was jointly inaugurated at the TIA’s International Terminal Building by Nepal Telecom Managing Director, Ms. Sabina Maskey, and Airport General Manager, Mr. Hansh Raj Pandey, marking the first phase of the rollout.
Nationwide Coverage Expansion
The launch at TIA is the starting point for a broader national project. This program is being implemented based on an agreement between Nepal Telecom and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to operate free internet services targeting general passengers at:
Three (3) International Airports across the country.
Thirty-four (34) Domestic Airports nationwide.
This strategic rollout is expected to significantly enhance the digital experience for travelers using air transport across Nepal.
Seamless Connectivity for Travelers
The Free Wi-Fi internet service at TIA is already accessible in key passenger areas, ensuring connectivity where it is needed most.
Service Coverage
The Wi-Fi signal covers arrival halls, departure lounges, VIP lounges, and general waiting areas within the airport premises.
How to Connect
Passengers can connect to the complimentary internet service by finding the Wi-Fi network with the SSID “NT-CAAN Free WiFi” and following the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.
This move underscores Nepal Telecom’s commitment to leveraging its resources to benefit the public and support national infrastructure, providing a vital communication amenity for both domestic and international visitors.
