The number of people undergoing the tests for coronavirus tests in Kathmandu Valley has increased significantly. “The number of people visiting the hospital has reached 30 from 15”, said Dr. Sagar Raj Bhandari, the Director at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Control Hospital.

Five cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Kathmandu so far. People are scared of getting infected by a coronavirus.

The people who have returned from abroad recently are more in number among the people who visit the hospital for coronavirus tests.

The reason is that their landlords and the community are insisting for them to get tested.

“The latest case of coronavirus in Kathmandu has further spread the fear, resulting in increased visits to the hospital,” he added.

Teku-based hospitals have increased their Isolation beds and ICU sections, foreseeing their need shortly. There are now 20 ICUs and 25 Isolation beds, informed Dr. Raj Bhandari.
