Open Knowledge Nepal proudly announces the triumph of its “Data Expedition” held on March 9, marking Open Data Day 2024 in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City!

During the event, participants engaged in collaborative efforts, forming teams to ideate solutions for local challenges utilizing open data resources. They meticulously combed through available datasets, formulated project proposals, and presented their innovative ideas for further nurturing under mentorship, with the opportunity to secure seed funding for implementation.

Exciting news follows as Open Knowledge Nepal reveals the selection of three outstanding projects, each awarded a grant of Rs. 15,000/-:

Team Public ATM: Initiating Public Awareness Campaign on Traffic Management
Team We For Community: Conducting Data Collection on Snake-Bite Incidents and Implementing Mitigation Strategies in Dhanusha District
Team Welcome: Addressing the Issue of Drug Abuse in Janakpurdham

This initiative underscores the power of open data in fostering community-driven solutions to pressing societal challenges, exemplifying tangible progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the grassroots level.
