Nepal Open University (NOU) formally established in 2016 in Nepal. With the endorsement of the Nepal Open University act by the parliament of Nepal. This is the premier Open University in Nepal with legal status on par with other universities in the country. It has its main campus in Lalitpur, Nepal.

Nepal Open University (NOU) aims to provide Plagiarism Checking System software to avoid plagiarism and plagiarism in Thesis Research Papers.

The only open university in Nepal has invited applications from interested companies to connect to this software. The university has invited Silvandi bids for e-library and learning management system for plagiarism checking system software subscriptions.

The e-library and learning management system will be linked to software related to the duplicate testing system and will detect and test plagiarism (intellectual plagiarism) in Ph.D., MPhil, and Master’s degrees in the university.

Such software should have the involvement of at least 1,300 users.

Tribhuvan University has also tendered for the connection of similar software. According to the process, Tribhuvan University plans to put the software into service within the next two to three months.

This similar type of software has already being used at the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk under Tribhuvan University.
