Pathao Nepal, the country’s leading ride-sharing platform, has marked six years of business, continuing its journey toward becoming a super app.

In celebration of its anniversary, Pathao has diversified its services, launching three new offerings that aim to further enhance customer convenience.
According to Managing Director Asimman Singh Basnyat, the additional services are designed to provide users with a broader range of options through a single app. “Currently, we offer ride-sharing, food, and parcel delivery services. With these new additions, customers will have even more convenience, and we are confident it will make their experience smoother,” said Basnyat. For now, these newly introduced services will be available only within the Kathmandu Valley.
Having already digitized ride-sharing, food delivery, and parcel services, Pathao is now set to launch ‘Pathao Kirana,’ ‘Pathao Khaja Ghar,’ and ‘Pathao Games.’ The Pathao Kirana service will enable customers to easily purchase groceries from local stores through the app’s marketplace section. Similarly, Pathao Khaja Ghar will allow users to order snacks from local vendors online.
For sellers to join Pathao Kirana and Pathao Khaja Ghar, they are required to be registered with a PAN (Permanent Account Number). Basnyat further explained that the first six months of these services will be commission-free for sellers, meaning they won’t have to pay any service fees on transactions made through Pathao Kirana and Khaja Ghar during this period.
Interested vendors can contact Pathao Nepal at 01-5970099 to register. Once registered, Pathao will provide them with an e-store and access to a seller dashboard. This dashboard will enable them to manage orders, track records, view sales data, and organize their product listings and shop hours. The dashboard is integrated with Pathao’s Restro App, which will allow sellers to conveniently manage their operations. However, vendors will need to handle the delivery of orders from Pathao Kirana and Khaja Ghar themselves.
Initially, Pathao Kirana and Khaja Ghar will be launched in a simplified form, but the company aims to fully digitize these services within a year.
In addition to these services, Pathao has introduced Pathao Games to entertain customers. Players can earn points and redeem them for gifts or discounts on Pathao services. Customers can access Pathao Games via the app’s homepage, and this feature aims to boost local digital engagement.
Pathao is also running a Parcel Delivery Festival, offering parcel delivery across Nepal for just NPR 1 until October 14.
Launched in Nepal on September 24, 2018, Pathao started with bike ride-sharing services and expanded to car and taxi services on August 9, 2019.
