Pathibhara Cable Car Dispute, Taplejung: Government Forms Negotiation Team

The government has formed a team to address the dispute surrounding the construction of the Pathibhara Cable Car in Taplejung. The team will engage with the involved parties to resolve the conflict.

Prem Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary at the Home Ministry, will lead the team. The team includes representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Urban Development.

The Home Ministry stated on Sunday announcing the formation of the negotiation team. The ministry emphasized that dialogue and coordination would be the primary tools for resolving the issue. Government’s Plan of Action
According to the Government of Nepal (Work Division) Regulations 2074, issues related to cable car policies and regulations fall under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. The government has instructed the ministry to take the lead in resolving the matter. The team will also coordinate with all parties to ensure that the concerns raised by residents are adequately addressed.
Call for Protest Withdrawal
The government has urged the protesting parties to withdraw their protests and participate in negotiations.
