PM NVA Volleyball League to Kick Off On April 23 in Tripureshwor

The Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) has announced that the Prime Minister NVA Women’s and Men’s Volleyball League will be held from April 23 to May 2, 2026 (Baisakh 10 to 19).

The tournament is scheduled to take place at the National Sports Council’s covered hall in Tripureshwor.
Initially planned for March as part of the annual sports calendar, the league was rescheduled to April due to various technical reasons. A total of 14 teams, 8 in the men’s category and 6 in the women’s category, will compete for the prestigious title.
Participating Teams
The men’s category will feature:

Help Nepal Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police, APF Club, Khilji Youth Club (Lumbini), West Rukum Volleyball Team, Koshi Province, and Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club.
The women’s category will see competition between:

New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Nepal Police, APF Club, Sudurpashchim Province, Everest Volleyball Club, and Tribhuvan Army Club.
Prize Money and Awards
The NVA has ensured equal prize money for both men’s and women’s divisions.
Winner: Rs 1,000,000
First Runner-up: Rs 500,000
Second Runner-up: Rs 250,000
Individually, the Best Player in both categories will receive Rs 60,000. Additionally, the best server, blocker, libero, spiker, setter, and coach will each be awarded Rs 30,000.
Logistics and Broadcast
Himalayan Television will provide live coverage of the entire tournament. The association has estimated a total budget of approximately Rs 11.5 million for the event.
To support the athletes, players from teams outside the Kathmandu Valley will receive a daily allowance of Rs 1,200 for food and lodging, while local players will receive a daily snack allowance of Rs 300.
Foreign Player Policy
In line with the association’s policy to enhance the level of competition, each team is allowed to include up to three foreign players. Teams must follow the necessary government regulations and procedures to bring in international talent.
The Nepal Volleyball Association has expressed its commitment to the development and professionalization of volleyball as the national sport and seeks support from all sectors to make the league a grand success.
