Prabhu Bank Limited (#PBL) and Swisscontact/Nepal Agricultural Market Development Program (#NAMDP) Phase joined forces to launch a new project titled ‘Growing Together: A Sustainable Agriculture Initiative for Koshi Province.’

This collaborative effort aims to support the commercial development of Nepali farmers engaged in agricultural businesses within the Koshi Province.

The agreement signing ceremony saw Mr. Rima Shrestha representing Swisscontact Nepal/NAMDP Phase and Mr. Ashok Sherchan, Chief Executive Officer of Prabhu Bank, formalize the partnership. Through this initiative, farmers in the Koshi region will have easier access to agricultural loans alongside personal and business literacy programs offered through Prabhu Bank’s nearest branches.

This collaboration between Prabhu Bank and #SwissContact is expected to significantly benefit farmers in Koshi Province by:

Enhancing access to financial resources:

Agricultural loans provided by Prabhu Bank will empower farmers to invest in their agricultural endeavors, potentially leading to increased productivity and profitability.

Promoting knowledge and skills development:

The literacy programs offered will equip farmers with the necessary financial and business management skills to navigate the agricultural sector effectively.

Encouraging sustainable agricultural practices:

The initiative’s focus on sustainable agriculture is likely to promote environmentally friendly farming methods, ensuring long-term benefits for the region’s agricultural ecosystem.

This project is a testament to Prabhu Bank’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s agricultural sector and empowering local farmers. By providing financial resources and knowledge, ‘Growing Together’ has the potential to significantly contribute to the growth and prosperity of the agricultural industry in Koshi Province.
