Designed For Challenging Terrain
The new helicopter was built by Airbus, a French aircraft manufacturer. It is part of the H125 series, also known as AS350 B3e. This model is known for its strong performance in high-altitude environments and rugged terrains. It offers safe, efficient, and dependable services.
Prabhu Helicopter’s Chairman, Subash Amatya, said the H125 is ideal for Nepal’s geography. “This helicopter delivers safety and efficiency in remote and mountainous areas,” he explained.
Advanced Technology And Capacity
The H125 features modern avionics and technology. It can carry five passengers. Globally, this model is used in various missions because of its reliability and high-altitude capabilities.
Amatya said the helicopter is not only technologically advanced but also versatile. “It has become one of the most widely used and trusted helicopters around the world,” he added.
Multi-Sector Use
The new helicopter will support various sectors. It will be used in tourism, emergency medical rescue, cargo transportation, and humanitarian missions. These operations are common in Nepal’s hilly and remote areas.
Amatya emphasized that the helicopter would help in quick response and support in critical times. “This addition strengthens our commitment to serve across all terrains and emergencies,” he stated.
Regulatory Approval From CAAN
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) approved the new aircraft after completing required inspections. It was added to Prabhu Helicopter’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
Gyanendra Bhul, spokesperson for CAAN, confirmed the process. He said, “The helicopter met all administrative and technical criteria and is now ready for commercial operations.”
Journey From Robinson To Airbus
Prabhu Helicopter started its operations in 2072 BS (2015 AD). Initially, it operated under the name Muktinath Helicopters. The Prabhu Group acquired it nearly a decade ago and rebranded the company.
In its early days, the company operated with just one Robinson helicopter. Over the years, it expanded and added four more Robinson helicopters to its fleet.
However, five years ago, the company changed its strategy. Based on growing demands and terrain challenges, it imported its first Airbus helicopter.
Strategic Shift For Better Performance
With more experience in the field, Prabhu Helicopter noticed a need for stronger aircraft. The Robinson helicopters were not meeting expectations for high-altitude flights.
To address this, the company decided to sell all Robinson helicopters. It chose to invest in high-performance Airbus models, starting with the H125.
Chairman Amatya said the decision was based on operational needs. “We needed a helicopter that could handle Nepal’s extreme geography effectively and safely,” he said.
Two Airbus Helicopters In Service
Now, with the new arrival, Prabhu Helicopter owns two Airbus H125 helicopters. These helicopters help the company maintain high safety and service standards.
The company continues to grow and upgrade its fleet to ensure reliable aviation services across the country.
Commitment To Excellence
Prabhu Helicopter remains focused on service quality. The company ensures that all flights meet national aviation regulations and international safety standards.
From tourism to rescue, from logistics to health emergencies, Prabhu Helicopter delivers across multiple fronts. It works closely with regulators, stakeholders, and communities.
Addressing Nepal’s Aviation Needs
Nepal’s landscape requires specialized aviation solutions. High mountains, remote settlements, and limited road access make helicopters essential.
The H125 model helps address these challenges. It flies high, performs well in tough weather, and carries important loads or passengers efficiently.
Prabhu Helicopter’s investment in such models shows its deep understanding of the country’s aviation needs.
Future Plans And Expansion
The company plans to keep growing. It aims to add more helicopters and improve its service network. The team also focuses on pilot training, technical upgrades, and emergency readiness.
Chairman Amatya said the new helicopter is part of a long-term strategy. “We are building a fleet that can serve every part of Nepal—fast, safe, and effectively,” he said.
Conclusion
With the addition of the Airbus H125, Prabhu Helicopter has taken another step forward. It continues to lead Nepal’s private helicopter sector. The company now flies higher, faster, and more safely, ready to serve Nepal’s skies in all seasons.
