15th December 2025, Kathmandu
Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance has successfully concluded its eighth year of operation and formally entered its ninth year beginning on Sunday, Mangsir 28 (December 14).
Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Anniversary
The company marked this significant milestone by organizing a range of programs and activities across the entire nation, celebrating its journey and achievements in the competitive life insurance sector.
To commemorate its ninth anniversary, the company inaugurated a major digital service designed to enhance customer convenience and promote digital financial transactions within the insurance industry. This new service is called the E-Policy Loan, which enables eligible policyholders to obtain loans simply by pledging their existing insurance policies directly through the company’s digital platforms.
Inauguration of E-Policy Loan Service
The launch of the E-Policy Loan service was a collaborative event, jointly inaugurated by several key figures within the company, signifying its importance to the firm’s strategic future.
The service was officially launched by company directors, including Birendra Jung Pandey, Smarika Aryal, Susan Sherchan, Shamsher Parajuli, and Bhawana Balayar. They were joined by the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Santosh Prasai, and the official brand ambassador, Manoj Gajurel. This collective inauguration underscores the commitment of both the leadership and public face of the company to the new digital initiative.
Digital Transformation and Service Commitment
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, CEO Santosh Prasai described the E-Policy Loan as a major step toward digital transformation within the Nepalese insurance sector. He emphasized that the introduction of this service clearly reflects the company’s dedication to adopting modern technology and delivering highly convenient services to customers, regardless of their physical location. This approach minimizes the need for policyholders to visit branches, saving time and simplifying access to liquidity.
Eligibility Criteria for E-Policy Loan
To ensure the safety and viability of the E-Policy Loan service, the company has established clear eligibility criteria for policyholders seeking to access this digital credit facility. A policy must meet the following four conditions to qualify for the loan:
Policy Duration: The policy must have completed at least three years of its term.
Premium Payment Consistency: The policyholder must have paid premiums for three consecutive years without interruption.
Active Status: The policy must be currently in an active status, meaning it is not lapsed or terminated.
Updated Information: The policyholder must have updated their Know Your Customer (KYC) details and ensured that their bank account information is current with the company records.
The E-Policy Loan service is accessible through multiple digital channels, including the Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life website and the official mobile application, promoting ease of access.
Broader Digital Facilities
In addition to the pioneering E-Policy Loan service, the company also launched several other related digital facilities as part of its ongoing digital transformation initiative. These include an AI chatbot for automated customer service, a dynamic QR system for payment collection, and a robust login portal for policyholders to manage their accounts online.
Anniversary Celebrations and Community Engagement
The anniversary celebrations extended beyond the corporate and digital spheres to include a significant public health initiative, demonstrating the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Free Heart Health Camp: As a mark of its ninth anniversary, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life organized a free heart health screening camp on Sunday at Tikhedeval. This community-focused initiative provided valuable health services to local residents.
Beneficiaries and Medical Team: The health camp was highly successful, with more than 500 local residents benefiting from the free screening services. The camp was conducted at the premises of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 14 Office and was expertly led by a 10-member medical team from Om Hospital, under the guidance of cardiology specialist Dr. Diwakar Parajuli. Free medicines were also distributed to the participants, addressing immediate healthcare needs.
