By Ruby Shrestha “When opportunity knocks at your door, be willing to take a chance, because you never know how wonderful something can turn out to be!” This statement has been guiding me all along. I believe that we should never let our fear hold us back. I am delighted to have taken the opportunity of co-authoring a paper with Mr. Bijaya Kumar Shrestha, Academic Officer of DWIT College, and Mr. Manoj Shakya, Assistant Professor of Kathmandu University, and presenting it at IT4D, an international conference on IT for Development. It was an entirely new, and at the same time, a completely satisfying experience.
The conference was attended by elite professors, researchers, and practitioners from within and outside Nepal. It was a great chance for me to get to know the diverse research in the field of e-education and varied aspects of research philosophy. The experience and dedication of each one of them got me motivated.
My presentation was in the last session of the day. This, I think, was a great placement. Until my presentation, I was able to gain knowledge on good aspects of each of the prior presentations and prepped myself up for any required rooms for improvement.
All in all, the presentation went well, and I was over the moon when I was congratulated for a good presentation. I am grateful to Mr. Bijaya Kumar Shrestha and Mr. Manoj Shakya for providing me all the guidance required and for allowing me to experience presenting in one of the excellent platforms of the country. To sum up, the day was optimally educational and informative!
