Malaysian EV giant Proton, in partnership with its official Nepalese distributor, Jagdamba Motors, has significantly expanded its footprint in Nepal with the grand opening of its third showroom and service center in Pokhara.
This strategic move marks a pivotal step in Proton’s aggressive plan to grow its electric vehicle (EV) network across Nepal by 2025.
Proton eMAS 7 EV Pokhara
The new state-of-the-art facility, located at Buddha Chowk, Pokhara, was officially inaugurated by Dipendra Koirala, President of the Western Automobile Dealers Association (WADA). Koirala lauded Proton’s entry into Pokhara, recognizing the city’s emergence as Nepal’s second major automotive hub.
Proton eMAS 7 EV: Performance, Range & Features
Central to the Pokhara launch is the Proton eMAS 7, Proton’s flagship electric SUV. First introduced to the Nepali market in March 2024, the eMAS 7 promises a blend of power, safety, and advanced technology.

Safety: Boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with a 360-degree view camera.
Platform: Built on the cutting-edge Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform, featuring a 12-in-1 intelligent electric propulsion system and Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery structure.

The eMAS 7 is available in six striking colors: Platinum Silver, Turquoise Green, Slate Grey, Quartz Rose, and Lithium White.
Rapid Charging and Seamless Ownership
The Proton eMAS 7 supports DC fast charging, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in a mere 20 minutes, or an impressive 135 km of range from just a 10-minute charge.
To ensure a seamless ownership experience for Nepalese customers, Jagdamba Motors has also established its third service center in Pokhara, promising world-class after-sales support.

During the launch week celebration, Proton announced an exclusive 0% interest financing offer for customers purchasing the eMAS 7 in Pokhara. The showroom will offer personal consultations, easy financing options, and guidance on accessing government subsidies.

About Proton eMas 7
The Proton eMAS 7, globally recognized as the Geely Galaxy E5, stands as Proton’s inaugural fully-electric SUV, marking a significant stride in the Malaysian manufacturer’s electrification journey. It debuted in Malaysia on December 16, 2024, with immediate sales, and offers two distinct variants: the Prime, equipped with a 49.52 kWh battery, and the Premium, featuring a larger 60.22 kWh battery. Both models are powered by a robust 160 kW front-mounted electric motor, delivering 320 Nm of torque, enabling quick acceleration.
Performance-wise, the eMAS 7 boasts impressive capabilities. The Prime variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, while the Premium achieves this in 7.1 seconds, both reaching a top speed of 175 km/h. Crucially for EV users, the Prime offers a WLTP range of up to 345 km, with the Premium extending that to a substantial 410 km. The vehicle also incorporates Proton’s Aegis Short Blade LFP battery technology, designed for enhanced safety, longevity, and efficient DC fast charging, allowing a 30-80% charge in approximately 20 minutes with speeds capping at 80 kW for the Prime and 100 kW for the Premium.
