Provide ICT Training for 50 Unskilled Youth, Ganga Bhandari

A week long “ICT training for youth” kicked off on 17th July in Tokha, Kathmandu. The training organized by NI-LAB will provide basic computer and IT skills to around 40 young men and women from the Tokha community.

The training was inaugurated by Rajendra Man Banepali from United Nations in Nepal. Special guests at the inaugural session were: Dr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire from Remote Sensing, Dilli Prasad Sharma form Amrit Science College (ASCOL)/Tribhuvan University and Subash Khadka from Digital Learning Asia. Also present at the program were the principals of schools in the Tokha community, including Hari Das Shrestha from Amar English School, Babu Lal Bhandari from Saraswoti School and Babu Lal Dangol from Bindabasini Secondary School. According to Program coordinator at NI-LAB Ganga Bhandari 36 of the 40 participants are receiving this ICT training free of costs. The trainees will learn entry-level office package, multimedia, Internet and computer security. Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal and Global Nepali Professional Nepal had provided technical support for the training.
