Rajendra Luitel Elected President of Event Management Association

The Event Management Association of Nepal, the leading umbrella organization for event organizers and managers across the country, has elected Rajendra Luitel (Raj) as its new central president. Luitel will lead a 13-member executive committee for a two-year term, following the association’s third general convention and election assembly held in 2082.

The convention, which saw the participation of over 120 event organizers and companies from across Nepal, took place at the Boutique Hotel in Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The new executive committee was largely elected unopposed, demonstrating a strong consensus within the association.
Key Elected Officials
Alongside President Rajendra Luitel, the following individuals were elected to key positions:
Vice Presidents: Trishna Gurung and Samir Lama
General Secretary: Sonytaraj Dhungel
Secretary: Bipin Pokharel
Treasurer: Manoj Thapa
Joint Secretary: Bhagirath Kumar Pokharel
Joint Treasurer: Sapana Rai
The newly elected executive members include Subash Shrestha Pradhan, Ram Krishna Shrestha, Rahul Banjade, Pooja Regmi, and Lomas Karki.
Convention Highlights and Dignitaries
The election proceedings were smoothly overseen by the association’s advisors: veteran singer Sitaram Koirala, senior journalist B.M. Acharya, and advocate Keshav Pokharel, who served as election officials.
The newly elected officials were felicitated with certificates by Chief Guest, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar, alongside special guest Dr. Arpana Shah and other prominent dignitaries. Numerous organizational heads and representatives attended the assembly as observers, highlighting the event’s significance.
New Advisors and Patron Honored
During the convention, three distinguished individuals were appointed as advisors to the association:
Dr. Bhola Rijal: Senior doctor and lyricist
Dinesh D.C.: Chairman of the Film Development Board
Dr. Sushila Mall: Teaching Hospital professor and former Lions Club governor
They were presented with certificates of appointment, officially welcoming them to their advisory roles.
Additionally, Lab Bahadur Karki, the outgoing president, was honored for his contributions and appointed as the patron of the association during the same ceremony. Senior journalist B.M. Acharya expertly hosted the event.
This new leadership is expected to further strengthen the Event Management Association’s role in promoting and regulating the event industry across Nepal.
