The inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday. Mayor Baleshwar Mandal of Dhanushadham and RBBL Chairman Dilip Kumar Dhungana jointly unveiled the plaque and cut the ribbon. The event marked the official launch of the branch’s banking operations.
Focus on Local Development
Mayor Mandal emphasized the importance of banking services in the area. He pointed out that Dhanushadham holds strong potential in tourism and agriculture. According to him, these sectors need focused investment from the banking sector.
He also stated that since RBBL is government-owned, it belongs to the people. “This is the public’s bank,” he said. “Everyone should use their services to benefit from modern banking facilities.”
The mayor’s remarks reflected the local government’s trust in RBBL’s role in regional development.
CEO Highlights Nationwide Expansion
RBBL Chief Executive Officer Devendra Raman Khanal also addressed the gathering. He shared that the bank aims to open branches in all 77 districts of Nepal. “We are expanding to ensure financial services reach every citizen,” he said.
He added that the bank is equipped with skilled staff and modern banking technology. “We are ready to deliver digital and efficient services,” Khanal noted. He expressed confidence in the bank’s ability to meet growing customer needs.
Special Events Mark the Launch
The inauguration was not limited to a formal program. To engage the local community, the bank organized a morning rally. Participants marched around the municipality in a symbolic welcome of the new branch.
This event created public excitement and helped introduce the branch to nearby residents.
Strong Presence at the Ceremony
The ceremony saw participation from a wide range of guests. Chairing the event was RBBL Chairman Dilip Kumar Dhungana. The program was hosted by Sangam Mahat.
Among the dignitaries were Deputy Mayor of Dhanushadham Municipality Vidya Devi Bhujel and Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3. Also in attendance were RBBL Deputy CEO Pawan Regmi, Department Head Anand Subedi, Madhesh Province Manager Kamalesh Thakur, and Company Secretary Pramod Adhikari.
In addition, local political leaders, social activists, business owners, and general citizens joined the program. Their presence highlighted the importance of the event for the community.
Bank’s Growing Network
With the launch of the Dhanushadham branch, RBBL continues to grow. The bank now operates 297 branches across all seven provinces. It has a presence in every district of the country.
Besides branches, RBBL offers services through 312 ATMs and 99 branchless banking points. This wide network ensures financial access even in remote areas.
The bank’s expansion reflects its commitment to inclusive banking.
Serving the People
RBBL stands as one of Nepal’s largest and oldest commercial banks. Owned by the government, it carries a strong sense of public responsibility. The bank offers a wide range of services, from regular deposits and loans to digital banking.
By opening new branches, RBBL is helping bridge the gap between rural areas and formal banking systems. It aims to boost economic activities and promote savings, investment, and credit in less developed areas.
CEO Khanal stressed that the bank’s mission is to support Nepal’s economic development. “We are here not just to provide services, but to empower people financially,” he said.
Collaboration With Local Authorities
The successful launch of the Dhanushadham branch was made possible with strong cooperation between the bank and local authorities. Dhanushadham Municipality provided full support to the event. Local leaders encouraged citizens to trust and use the bank’s services.
This partnership between government bodies and financial institutions can lead to stronger regional development. With such support, RBBL can more effectively implement its goals.
Moving Forward
RBBL continues to prioritize financial inclusion and innovation. The bank plans to introduce more digital services and expand branchless banking in the future.
By opening its 297th branch, RBBL has taken another step toward building a financially connected Nepal. It seeks to serve not just the urban population, but also farmers, small business owners, and individuals in rural areas.
As Nepal’s economy modernizes, RBBL is positioning itself as a key player. Its presence in Dhanushadham is a reflection of its broader vision—to bring every Nepali into the banking system.
