Rastriya Banijya Bank’s newly constructed Gandaki Regional Office in Pokhara and the Prithvi Chowk branch were inaugurated on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by Finance Minister, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, who formally opened the buildings.

Government’s Efforts for Economic Growth

Minister Paudel emphasized the government’s role in lifting the country out of economic challenges. He praised the bank’s efforts to improve services and encouraged continued progress. The government aims to foster an environment where the public can trust and easily access banking services.

Call for Adaptation to Customer Needs

Paudel instructed the bank’s management to update services according to market demands. He highlighted the importance of making services feel personalized for customers. The minister also stressed that the bank should continue innovating to remain relevant in a competitive banking landscape.

Bank’s Efforts in Economic Revitalization

Laxman Ghimire, a member of the bank’s Board of Directors, chaired the event. CEO Devendra Raman Khanal addressed the audience, highlighting the bank’s contribution to Nepal’s economic growth. He mentioned that the bank had set interest rates at a single-digit level by slightly increasing the base rate. Khanal encouraged business owners to take advantage of lower interest rates for investment.

Focus on Sectoral Investments

Khanal further explained that the bank is increasing its investments in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, energy, and small enterprises. He stressed the need for a well-rounded approach to supporting the country’s economic development. The CEO also reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to improving services and ensuring they are aligned with customer expectations.

Bank’s Commitment to Technology and Services

Dilip Kumar Dhungana, Chairman of the bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to customer-centric services. He emphasized the bank’s drive to incorporate more technology, such as IT integration, to meet evolving needs. The bank plans to expand its reach and enhance service delivery through innovative solutions.

Dignitaries Offer Congratulations

Other notable attendees included Mitralal Basyal, Industry and Tourism Minister of Gandaki Province, and Dipakaraj Lamichhane, Chief of Nepal Rastra Bank in Pokhara. The event also saw addresses from Professor Dr. Ramprasad Gyawali, a board member of the bank, and Gokarna Karki, President of Pokhara’s Chamber of Commerce.

Ongoing Expansion of Services

Rastriya Banijya Bank currently operates 294 branches, 312 ATMs, and several banking services nationwide, including QR code services, credit and debit cards, and mobile banking. The new branch and regional office buildings further enhance the bank’s infrastructure.

This inauguration marks a significant step forward in Nepal Commerce Bank’s ongoing efforts to expand its services and strengthen its position in the banking sector.
