Rastriya Banijya Bank successfully conducted a financial literacy orientation program on Tuesday for the members of the Koshi Province Assembly.

The event was coordinated in collaboration with the Koshi Province Assembly and BIFCAB, an organization dedicated to financial awareness.
The program was led by the CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Devendra Raman Khanal, and featured former Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission and former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dipendra Bahadur Kshetri, who provided valuable insights to the assembly members. The event focused on various topics including financial policies, monetary policies, taxation, and budget formulation, helping the assembly members understand key aspects of financial literacy.
During the event, the Speaker of the Koshi Province Assembly, Ambar Bahadur Bista, emphasized the need for more such programs, warning of the risks businesses face due to fluctuating interest rates. He advocated for stability in interest rates to prevent businesses from collapsing. Additionally, Deputy Speaker Srijana Danuwar stressed the importance of integrating financial literacy into the school curriculum.
The participants discussed topics such as the importance of money, its optimal use, interest rates, and the relationship between banks, production, and employment. The assembly members raised queries on the role of financial literacy in economic development and employment creation.
