RBB Radio Nepal Employee Loan Agreement: Simple Professional Loans NPR 1.5 Million
6th May 2025, Kathmandu
Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBB) and Radio Nepal have signed a new agreement. This deal focuses on providing simple professional loans and salary account services to Radio Nepal employees. The signing ceremony took place recently in Kathmandu.
RBB Radio Nepal Employee Loan Agreement
CEO of RBBL, Devendra Raman Khanal, and Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Radio Nepal, Bishnuram Neupane, signed the document. With this partnership, both institutions aim to strengthen their cooperation and improve staff welfare.
Simple Loans for Radio Nepal Employees
As per the agreement, Radio Nepal employees will now have access to professional loans. These loans will be available to staff who have completed their designated service period. The loan amount can go up to NPR 1.5 million.
RBB will issue these loans under the guidelines of its Consumer Credit Directive, 2077. The bank will apply an interest rate of 2 percent above its base rate. Currently, the base rate is 5.14 percent, meaning the total interest rate will be around 7.14 percent.
This loan is designed to support employees with personal or professional needs. It will also make financial planning easier for them.
Salary Accounts to be Managed by RBB
Along with loans, RBBL will manage the salary accounts of Radio Nepal employees. This shift is expected to improve efficiency in salary distribution. Employees will also gain easier access to banking services such as online banking, ATM facilities, and personal account management.
The bank will ensure the timely and transparent handling of payroll services. This change is expected to reduce the administrative burden for Radio Nepal while offering convenience to its staff.
Officials Witness Signing Ceremony
Several senior officials from both institutions attended the event. From RBB, Deputy Chief Executive Officers Saraswati Adhikari and Devesh Prasad Lohani were present. Assistant Executive Officers Binaya Raman Poudel, Durga Kumari Kandel, and Ram Kumar Thapa also joined.
In addition, Department Heads Bholanath Poudel and Dinesh Gautam, Deputy Head Dinesh Neupane, and Singha Durbar Branch Manager Anish Rayamajhi participated in the event.
Radio Nepal was represented by Deputy Director Pushpakar Raj Gautam and Assistant Director Badrivilas Tandukar, among other staff members.
Partnership to Benefit Both Institutions
Both sides expressed confidence in the long-term benefits of the agreement. RBB expects to expand its client base within government-linked institutions. At the same time, Radio Nepal hopes its employees will enjoy better financial services with fewer complications.
The agreement is seen as a win-win partnership. It supports financial inclusion and promotes a supportive environment for public sector employees. The move also highlights RBB’s ongoing efforts to partner with national organizations.
RBB’s Strong National Presence
RBB is one of Nepal’s largest government-owned commercial banks. It has a strong presence across all seven provinces and 77 districts. The bank operates 294 branches, 312 ATMs, and 73 extension counters nationwide.
This wide reach ensures that Radio Nepal employees across the country can access banking services easily. Whether they are posted in Kathmandu or remote districts, services will be available to them without major obstacles.
A Step Toward Employee-Centric Banking
This agreement reflects a growing focus on employee-centric financial services. By offering simple loans and efficient salary account management, RBB and Radio Nepal are putting staff needs first.
Employees will now have a reliable partner for their financial concerns. Whether they need a loan or a smooth salary transfer, the system is now better prepared to serve them.
Furthermore, the collaboration supports the government’s push for digital and inclusive banking. It creates a model for how public institutions can work together to deliver practical benefits.
Looking Ahead
Going forward, this partnership may serve as a blueprint for similar agreements in other sectors. As the banking and broadcasting sectors continue to evolve, such alliances show the value of cooperation.
With the agreement now in place, both RBB and Radio Nepal are set to offer improved services to their stakeholders. For the employees, this means less stress, more access, and greater financial freedom.
The cooperation also reflects a broader shift in how Nepali institutions operate—prioritizing people, streamlining processes, and building trust through action.
