Renault has officially unveiled its new generation electric vehicle (EV), the Kwid E-Tech 2026, in Brazil.
Renault Kwid E-Tech ADAS
This model is a significantly refreshed iteration of the company’s entry-level electric hatchback. The refresh introduces substantial enhancements spanning design, safety protocols, and most importantly, advanced digital technology.
It’s positioned to be a disruptor in the affordable EV segment. The integration of cutting-edge smart safety systems and a sophisticated user interface makes the Renault Kwid E-Tech ADAS features a primary focus for tech-conscious consumers.
The new Kwid E-Tech 2026 presents a much more appealing and sharper aesthetic compared to its predecessor. The exterior underwent extensive redesigning, with nearly every body panel revised, excluding only the rear section.
The front profile is characterized by a sleek, piano-black grille and a complete suite of full LED lighting for both the head and taillights. This modern design language reflects the vehicle’s internal technological upgrades.
Advanced Digital Cockpit and User Interface
The interior receives a major technological overhaul. The cabin features a completely new dashboard architecture.
Central to the driver experience is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, providing clear and customizable vehicle data. This digital readout replaces traditional analog dials, offering a highly modernized interface.
The infotainment system is centered on a generous 10-inch touchscreen display. This system offers robust connectivity, supporting both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This wireless capability ensures seamless smartphone integration and access to navigation, media, and communication apps.
The cabin design further incorporates white highlights on the gear selector, instrument surrounds, and door handles, emphasizing a clean, contemporary, and tech-forward aesthetic.
Segment-First ADAS and Safety Technology
A major competitive advantage for the new Kwid E-Tech 2026 is its incorporation of eleven Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS).
This makes it a segment-first in the Brazilian market to offer such a comprehensive array of smart safety features. These systems leverage sensor technology and computational intelligence to actively assist the driver, significantly enhancing road safety.
The ADAS package includes critical functions like Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, utilizing camera technology to monitor road markings. It also features Automatic Emergency Braking, which employs radar or lidar to prevent collisions.
Other notable safety implementations are Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Fatigue Detection, Hill-Start Assist, Speed Limiter, Cruise Control, and both front and rear parking sensors supported by a rearview camera.
Complementing the ADAS suite are six standard airbags, establishing a new benchmark for entry-level EV protection. The Renault Kwid E-Tech ADAS setup clearly prioritizes accident prevention through smart technology.
Optimized Electric Powertrain and Charging Flexibility
The vehicle’s electric motor delivers 65 BHP of power. This configuration allows for brisk urban acceleration, achieving 0 to 50 km/h in a swift 4.1 seconds. The EV is equipped with a 26.8 kWh battery pack, which provides a practical driving range of 180 kilometers.
Renault offers exceptional flexibility in charging the EV. Utilizing a standard 220V household socket, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in approximately nine hours.
For faster home charging, a 7 kW AC wallbox facilitates a full charge in just three hours. Furthermore, the car supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach full capacity in a mere 45 minutes using a 30 kW DC fast charger. This multi-level charging capability addresses the diverse infrastructural needs of the consumer base.
Design and Utility for Modern Urban Commuting
The Kwid E-Tech 2026 maintains high utility levels, offering 290 liters of boot space. This storage capacity expands to an impressive 991 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
The ground clearance stands at 172mm, making it well-suited for varied road conditions. Renault firmly positions this model as its entry-level offering into electric mobility.
By bundling an attractive design with significant technological power and the comprehensive Renault Kwid E-Tech ADAS system, the Kwid E-Tech 2026 sets a new technological standard for accessible, smart, and safe electric driving.
