Himalayan Life Concludes ‘Rising Leadership Award 2082’ Program
4th November 2025, Kathmandu
Himalayan Life Insurance Company Limited successfully hosted the “Himalayan Rising Leadership Award 2082” program, a key event dedicated to acknowledging and motivating its high-performing insurance agents.
Rising Leadership Award 2082
The ceremony, which focused on recognizing achievements from the previous fiscal year, was held on Monday at Hotel Siddhartha in Birtamod, Jhapa, a major commercial hub in Nepal’s eastern region.
Recognition and Agent Motivation
The program is a critical component of Himalayan Life’s strategy to maintain a highly motivated and productive field force, which is the backbone of the insurance industry.
Honoring Top Contributors
The primary goal of the event was to honor and motivate insurance agents, as explained by Provincial Deputy Chief Bholakrishna Mishra (Navin).
Recognition Scope: Over 125 agents were officially recognized and honored for their sales and service contributions.
Geographic Reach: The honorees represented the Mechi Zone, covering a wide area from Pathari to Taplejung. This shows the company’s commitment to recognizing success across its extensive regional network.
The motivation provided through such public recognition is often crucial for insurance agents, whose income is largely commission-based. It fosters a competitive yet supportive environment, driving them to achieve greater business volumes and high standards of service.
Overcoming Delays
Provincial Chief Ram Bahadur Shahi noted that the program’s timing had been slightly delayed due to various strikes, festivals, and natural disasters that had impacted the region. Such delays are common in Nepal’s operating environment, making the successful execution of this large-scale event a testament to the company’s commitment to its agents despite external challenges. Political instability and natural events often impact business operations, and prioritizing agent recognition programs like this is important for morale and continuity.
Focus on Competitiveness and Policyholder Value
The event served not only to look back at past achievements but also to reiterate the company’s strategic focus on regulatory compliance and customer benefits.
Strengthening the Company and Customer Value
Zonal Head Navin Thapa, who hosted the program, highlighted the company’s ongoing initiatives to enhance competitiveness and maximize benefits for policyholders. He emphasized the company’s commitment to strict adherence to guidelines:
“Following the directives and regulations of the Insurance Authority, we have implemented various plans aimed at strengthening the company and providing maximum value to our clients,” he stated.
This aligns with the Nepal Insurance Authority’s push for stronger governance and capital adequacy in the sector, ensuring that Himalayan Life operates responsibly while optimizing its product offerings for customer value. A well-capitalized and compliant company directly translates to greater security and trust for policyholders.
Event Facilitation
The smooth execution of the program was facilitated by the local branch leadership, including Birtamod Branch Head Badri Bhandari and Surunga Branch Head Chandrakala Ghimire (CG). The involvement of branch and zonal leadership underscores the importance of a coordinated effort from the entire operational hierarchy in supporting the sales force.
The success of the “Himalayan Rising Leadership Award 2082” program is expected to inject fresh enthusiasm and commitment into the company’s agent network, directly supporting Himalayan Life Insurance Company Limited’s business objectives for the current fiscal year.
