22nd September 2025, Kathmandu
The President Business Group is set to host the second annual Pakku Festival in Kathmandu, a vibrant celebration dedicated to preserving Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.
Second Annual Pakku Festival
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2081 B.S., this festival returns with the goal of connecting new generations with traditional art, food, and customs while providing a nostalgic experience for elders.
What is Pakku?
Pakku is a traditional Nepali dish, a slow-cooked goat or mutton delicacy, particularly popular during the Hindu festival of Dashain.
The dish is prepared with a unique blend of dry spices and is known for its rich, robust flavor. Its preparation is a time-honored culinary art, and the festival aims to honor and protect this tradition.
A Festival of Tradition and Tourism
More than a commercial event, the Pakku Festival is a cultural showcase. Hosted at the President Sekuwa and Multi Cuisine Restaurant in Maharajganj, Kathmandu, the festival will feature:
Traditional Delicacies: The highlight is the signature Pakku dish, prepared by skilled master chefs.
Cultural Exhibits: Attendees can explore various local handicrafts, traditional musical instruments, and dishes used during the Dashain festival.
Entertainment and Nostalgia: The event is designed to entertain and inform, offering a glimpse into Nepali lifestyle and cuisine that will excite the youth and evoke a sense of nostalgia for the older generation.
A Community Event for All
The festival is specifically aimed at the large number of people who have moved to Kathmandu from other parts of Nepal and are unable to return to their villages for the festive season. It provides an opportunity for them to reconnect with their roots and celebrate their heritage in the city.
