Shouldn't IT Colleges Of Nepal Run Online Classes?

06 April 2020, Kathmandu

We’re in a quite unfortunate and challenging situation. Coronavirus, also called COVID-19 has brought unexpected changes in our daily lives. It has resulted in the closing of almost everything. Markets are closed, offices are closed, schools and colleges are also closed to fight this situation. We have been trying our best to adopt this problematic situation. We hope so you are.

During these difficult times, almost all the IT colleges in other countries are running their classes online and trying their best to provide education to their students. They’re coping with the situation and also are concerned about their students.

The colleges which claim to be one of the best colleges in the country with all the possible utilization of modern technologies had to show their responsibility for their students’ education by running online classes via Zoom, Hangouts, or any alternatives. However, the so-called best IT colleges are also acting like unaware of modern practices in online teaching-learning activities. Very few colleges has started running online classes in Nepal.

The colleges are running BIT, BSc. CSIT, BCA, BSc. IT and other related courses could run their regular classes via video conferencing platforms and show their dedication to their students. They could show that they’re the best colleges with proper utilization of modern technologies. They seem unaware that taking high fees from students doesn’t make the number one college, and for this, they need to adopt the situation and dedicate themselves to the students’ better future.

Students shouldn’t be deprived of their education by any excuse. In this current scenario, their health is also equally important. So, there is no option for running online classes for Nepalese IT colleges.

We believe, by taking consideration of both the current scenario and students’ future, the colleges will think about this vital step and run their classes through available online methods as soon as possible.
