Smartphone industry research company Gartner estimates that sales of smartphones will rise in the global market in 2021. The research firm predicts revenues of more than 1,5 billion smartphones will rise 11.4 percent by 2020.

Due to the corona outbreak, the demand decreased by 10.5 percent in 2020. A total of 1.378 billion telephone units, down from 1540 billion in 2019 have been delivered.

Gartner expects the fastest development in Asia-Pacific, Western Europe, and Latin America in 2021. China, in particular, is expected to use 40 million more phones than they did last year.

In addition, 5G phones are expected to account for around 35 percent of global smartphone sales. Similarly, sales of 5G phones are projected to double in comparison to 2020. This is attributed to the wide availability of the 5G network and the start price of the 5G phone from about 200.

In markets like China, 5G phones are on the rise this year.

Despite the overall rise in phone revenue, Gartner estimates that sales will not be as high as in 2019.
