The event provided a glimpse into the future of electric mobility in Nepal, showcasing a vehicle that seamlessly blends a rugged, retro-classic design with advanced cyber-tech features.
The iCAUR v23 is part of the Chery Group, a prominent Chinese automobile manufacturer that has been the country’s largest automobile exporter for the past two decades.
With a global footprint spanning over 80 countries and a delivery record of more than 13 million vehicles, Chery’s entry into the Nepali market through its iCAUR brand is poised to make a significant impact.
A Fusion of Rugged Design and Smart Technology
The iCAUR v23 is a compact electric SUV designed to appeal to consumers who appreciate a tough, adventure-ready look without compromising on modern technology and comfort.
It is powered by a 100-kW single motor setup, generating 180 Nm of torque, and is equipped with a 59.93 kWh battery pack. The vehicle’s dimensions—4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase—ensure a balanced stance and a spacious cabin.
Reflecting the growing interest in electric vehicles with a unique aesthetic, the V23 will be available in six exterior color options. The interior is designed for comfort and practicality, featuring ample front and rear seating space for easy entry and exit.
A notable design element is the use of uniquely styled mechanical knobs, which merge tactile functionality with contemporary design. The vehicle’s high-rigidity body, composed of over 70% high-strength steel, and adherence to enterprise-grade battery safety standards highlight iCAUR’s commitment to durability and protection.
Attendees at the preview event were given a hands-on experience, exploring the vehicle’s intelligent technology and getting a feel for its driving experience.
SPG Automobiles, which also distributes Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles, aims to “revolutionize and elevate the electric driving experience for Nepalese consumers.”
