The highly anticipated two-day ‘Sunway Startup and Idea Fest 2025 in association with Tingting and powered by Sastotickets officially began today at Anupam Foodland, Battisputali, Kathmandu.

In a strong gesture of government endorsement, the fest was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Radhika Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

“The attraction towards startups and innovation among the youth has been increasing recently. The government has focused on infrastructure and legal reforms for information technology development,” stated Secretary Aryal during the opening ceremony.
She highlighted the government’s commitment to a technology-friendly environment, citing the introduction of the AI policy and the recent establishment of the AI Centre as key evidence of this forward-thinking approach.
A Platform for Investment and Ecosystem Growth
The event serves as a crucial pre-event for the prestigious ICT Award 2025. More than 50 semi-finalists across the Startup, Product, Rising Star, and Social Innovation categories of the Awards are participating, allowing visitors to directly observe and cast votes for their favorite innovations.
Rajan Lamsal, Chairman of Living with ICT and Coordinator of the Fest, emphasized the event’s decade-long mission to promote homegrown talent. “We are consistently working to develop the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country, providing a vital platform for new ideas and possibilities,” he said.
