Suyog Shrestha Re-elected President of Development Bankers Association Nepal

Suyog Shrestha, CEO of Shangri-la Development Bank, has been re-elected as President of the Development Bankers Association Nepal (DBAN). The association held its 19th Annual General Meeting in Pokhara on Thursday. Members unanimously elected Shrestha for another term.

The meeting also elected new office bearers. Dinesh Thakali, CEO of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, became Vice President. Madhav Prasad Upadhaya, CEO of Garima Bikas Bank, took the role of Secretary. Kapil Dhakal, CEO of Jyoti Bikas Bank, was appointed Treasurer.
Additionally, the assembly elected five executive committee members. They include Naresh Singh Bohara (Lumbini Bikas Bank), Prakash Paudel (Sain Resunga Development Bank), Dipesh Lamsal (Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank), Hari Bahadur Budhathoki (Green Development Bank), and Dinesh Pokharel (Saptakoshi Development Bank).
The General Assembly approved several key proposals. These included the audit report for fiscal year 2080/81, the President’s report, and the estimated income and expenditure for fiscal year 2081/82. Members also appointed an auditor for the upcoming fiscal year.
In his address, Suyog Shrestha thanked the members for their trust. He expressed his commitment to advocating for the rights and interests of development banks. Shrestha emphasized the importance of collaboration among member banks to address challenges and drive growth in the sector.
