The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of SY Panel Nepal Limited (SYPNL), a leading manufacturer of prefabricated construction materials, has successfully closed its general public offering, attracting an overwhelming response from Nepalese investors.
SY Panel IPO Oversubscribed
According to the data released by CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC), the issue was oversubscribed by more than six times, signaling robust confidence in the manufacturing sector and primary market enthusiasm.
Key Subscription Figures and Lottery Odds
The massive volume of applications confirms that the IPO will be allotted via a lottery system, drastically reducing the chances of receiving shares for the majority of applicants.
| Category | Shares Issued to the General Public | Total Applications Received | Total Shares Applied For | Oversubscription Rate |
| General Public | 4,076,156 units | 2,129,715 | 24,632,630 units | 6.04 Times |
| Expected Allottees | 407,615 |
This high level of oversubscription means that only about 407,615 lucky applicants out of over 2.1 million will receive the minimum of 10 units through the lottery system.
Why the High Demand?
SY Panel Nepal, a subsidiary of the South Korea-based SY Co. Limited (which holds approximately 63% ownership), operates a manufacturing facility in Ratnanagar, Chitwan.
The company specializes in the production of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Polyurethane Foam (PUFF) sandwich panels, UPVC windows, and steel doors, widely used in prefabricated housing and construction.
Sector Appeal: The prefabricated and modular construction sector is gaining traction in Nepal, appealing to investors looking for growth outside traditional banking and hydro sectors.
Foreign Parentage: The backing of a large international company, SY Co. Limited, adds a layer of confidence regarding technology and management standards.
Investment Climate: Despite NEPSE fluctuations, the primary market (IPOs) remains highly popular, given the low face value of Rs. 100 per share and the high probability of short-term gains.
Pre-Allotment to Foreign Employees and Locals
The company strategically completed the allotment for its reserved categories before the general public offering:
Nepalese in Foreign Employment: 497,092 units were allotted on October 9, 2025.
Industry-Affected Locals: 261,629 units were allotted on October 19, 2025.
The total issue size permitted by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) was 5,232,548 units, representing 40% of the company’s issued capital (NPR 1,308,937,100).
What’s Next for Applicants?
Applicants must now wait for the allotment process, which will be managed by the Issue Manager, Prabhu Capital Limited. The massive volume of applications means the lottery draw will be held soon.
Investors should track official notices from the Issue Manager and CDSC for the exact date and result checking procedures.
