Tata Motors Upgrades Nexon EV with Level 2 ADAS, Setting a New Safety Benchmark
3rd September 2025, Kathmandu
In a move set to redefine safety standards in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, Tata Motors has announced a significant upgrade to its highly popular electric SUV, the Nexon EV.
Tata Nexon Electric Vehicle
The company has equipped the latest iteration of the Nexon EV with a sophisticated Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite, bringing a new level of safety and convenience to its customers.
This enhancement places the Nexon EV among the most technologically advanced and secure vehicles in its class, all while maintaining an accessible price point.
The addition of Level 2 ADAS, which includes a range of semi-autonomous driving features, is a direct response to the increasing demand for enhanced safety technologies. This advanced system is designed to assist the driver and reduce the risk of accidents by providing features such as:
- Adaptive Cruise Control: Automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead.
- Lane Departure Warning & Lane-Keep Assist: Alerts the driver when the vehicle drifts out of its lane and can even gently steer it back.
- Forward Collision Warning & Automatic Emergency Braking: Warns the driver of an impending collision and can apply the brakes autonomously to prevent or mitigate an impact.
- Traffic Sign Recognition: Detects and displays traffic signs like speed limits on the driver’s display.
- High Beam Assist: Automatically switches between high and low beams based on oncoming traffic and lighting conditions.
- Blind-Spot Monitoring: Alerts the driver of vehicles in their blind spot, especially during lane changes.
Despite integrating this state-of-the-art technology, Tata Motors has committed to not introducing a significant price increase, making this an even more attractive proposition for potential buyers.
This strategic decision reinforces the company’s philosophy of offering value-for-money products without compromising on quality or safety.
A Feature-Rich Package
The addition of ADAS complements the already extensive list of features that make the Nexon EV a top contender in the market.
The vehicle comes loaded with premium amenities that cater to modern-day consumers, including a high-fidelity JBL premium sound system, a 360-degree surround-view camera for effortless parking, and a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof that adds a sense of spaciousness. The comfort is further elevated by ventilated leatherette seats, perfect for long drives.
In terms of connectivity and utility, the Nexon EV is ahead of the curve. It offers V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) charging capabilities, allowing the vehicle to act as a mobile power bank to charge other EVs or electrical appliances.
The infotainment system is handled by a large 12.25-inch cinematic touchscreen, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and comes with the Arcade EV app suite for in-car entertainment.
Performance and Availability in Nepal
Powering the Nexon EV is a robust 45 kWh battery pack, which, according to the company, provides a real-world driving range of up to 350 km on a single charge. This range is more than sufficient for daily commutes and inter-city travel, addressing a key concern for many EV buyers.
In Nepal, the official distributor of Tata Motors, Sipradi Trading, is selling this updated model under the name Nexon K3 EV. With the new features, the Nexon K3 EV is now available at a competitive price of NPR 48.99 lakh.
This launch is a significant step for Sipradi Trading in its mission to bring world-class, safe, and sustainable mobility solutions to the Nepali market. The introduction of the Level 2 ADAS-equipped Nexon K3 EV is expected to bolster its sales and further popularize electric vehicles in the country.
