Inaugurated by Kulman Ghising
Former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, unveiled both products during the event. He praised the innovation and called it a major step toward Nepal’s digital transformation.
“These products can boost our digital economy,” Ghising said. “They will also create job opportunities and improve efficiency in everyday life. Everyone should give it a try.”
All-in-One Super App
Tokma App is described as a super app. It combines various services in one platform. Users can access ride-sharing, tour guide services, personal security options, caregiver assistance, and online shopping—all from a single app.
This integration aims to make daily activities easier and more efficient. The app was built to support both individuals and businesses in their everyday needs.
Smart G-Card with NFC Technology
Alongside the app, Tokma Technologies also introduced the Z-Card. This is a digital card powered by NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. With a simple tap on an NFC-enabled phone, users can share their contact and business information instantly.
The Z-Card allows users to update their personal and professional details anytime. It removes the need to carry physical visiting cards. This not only adds convenience but also helps reduce paper waste.
According to the company, the Z-Card supports sustainable practices by cutting down the use of printed materials.
Built After Three Years of Research
Tokma Technologies has spent over three years developing these products. Co-founder Sanchaman Rai said the company has focused on research, feedback, and gradual improvements.
“These tools are the result of hard work and continuous learning,” he said. “We will keep improving them based on user suggestions.”
Driving Digital Transformation
CEO Sagar Angedumba shared his vision during the event. He emphasized that the Tokma App and Z-Card are not just digital tools. In his view, they are drivers of change that can uplift the nation.
“This isn’t only about technology,” he explained. “It’s about transforming how our country functions. Tokma is a symbol of that change.”
Public Transport Integration
Kuber Nepali, CEO of the Urban Transport Authority, highlighted the app’s relevance to public transport. He said ride-sharing is now essential for improving urban mobility.
“This technology makes public transport more efficient and accessible,” he said. “It’s a needed service in our growing cities.”
Innovation Is a Must
During the ceremony, a Vice President from the CAN Federation, Chiranjibi Adhikari, also addressed the audience. He emphasized the importance of innovation in today’s world.
“We live in a time where innovation isn’t a choice,” he said. “It’s a must. Startups are no longer just small businesses. They are full of potential, leadership, and hope for a digital Nepal.”
Support for Local Tech
Brand ambassador Wilson Bikram Rai, a popular actor and comedian, encouraged everyone to support Nepali innovations. He urged the public to use homegrown digital products like Tokma.
“Let’s promote our technology,” he said. “Tokma is made in Nepal. We should use it and support it.”
User-Centric and Eco-Friendly
Tokma Technologies has built the app and card with users in mind. The app’s features are designed to address common daily challenges. The Z-Card offers a smart alternative to traditional networking methods.
Both products also contribute to environmental awareness. By replacing printed cards, the Z-Card supports green practices. Tokma Technologies sees this as an important part of its mission.
Looking Ahead
The launch of the Tokma App and Z-Card marks a new chapter for Nepal’s tech ecosystem. The company is planning to expand services and reach more users across the country.
Tokma Technologies aims to keep updating its products. It will continue listening to users and adapting to their needs.
The journey has just begun, but the vision is clear—to build a digital Nepal through innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity.
