The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has formally recognized and honored the nation’s Top Taxpayers Honored CNI.

This recognition, which followed the government’s official awards on National Tax Day 2082, highlights institutions and individuals for their exceptional contribution to the national exchequer.
By honoring these high contributors, CNI actively underscores the vital role of the private sector, particularly in the growing domain of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), in national development.
A Spectrum of Corporate Excellence
The CNI’s ceremony acknowledged the sixteen entities and individuals previously celebrated by the government as high taxpayers. These included businesses across several critical sectors of the economy, ranging from manufacturing to finance.
The emphasis remains on encouraging a culture of compliance and recognizing those who actively participate in the tax system. The sectors and their respective top taxpayers honored by CNI include:
Manufacturing and Exports: Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (highest income tax filer among goods exporters) and Unilever Nepal Limited (highest among special industries).
Energy and Tourism: Bhote Koshi Power Company Pvt. Ltd. (highest among energy-based industries) and Soaltee Hotel Limited (highest among tourism businesses).
Trade and Retail: Bhatbhateni Super Market and Departmental Store Pvt. Ltd. (highest among goods trading businesses).
ICT Sector Shines in Compliance and Contribution
The ICT sector demonstrated its financial might and compliance prowess by securing multiple top spots. This highlights the industry’s increasing importance and fiscal maturity in Nepal. The key ICT and related service providers receiving recognition were:
Information Technology Service Export: Verisk Nepal Pvt. Ltd. was specially honored for depositing the highest income tax among companies that export IT-related services. This achievement showcases the potential of Nepal’s IT workforce and its capacity for high-value export revenue.
State-Owned Telecommunications: The Nepal Telecom Authority (NTA) received recognition for filing the highest income tax among statutory bodies.
Value-Added Tax (VAT) Compliance: Nepal Telecom Company Limited was awarded for the highest submission of Value Added Tax (VAT) among regular taxpayers over the specified period (Shrawan 2076 to Ashar 2082). Their consistent and timely compliance sets a high standard.
Remittance Services: IME Limited was recognized for the highest income tax filing in the remittance and money transfer business, a sector heavily reliant on digital infrastructure.
The inclusion of these technology-driven companies proves that the digital economy is now a central pillar of Nepal’s fiscal strength.
Banking, Finance, and Individual Achievements
Beyond the tech and trade sectors, other financial institutions and organizations were acknowledged for their significant tax contributions.
Financial and Insurance Sector: Nepal Investment Mega Bank Ltd. filed the highest income tax among banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies.
Clearing and Settlement: CD.S. & Clearing Ltd. was honored for the highest income tax among taxpayers with an annual turnover of over $500$ million to $1$ billion NPR.
Individual and Proprietorship: Raj Bahadur Shah, Managing Director of Jawalakhel Group of Industries and a Vice President of CNI, was recognized as the highest individual income taxpayer. Third Eye International was honored as the highest income tax filer among sole proprietorship firms.
Other Notables: Posak Breeder Farm Pvt. Ltd. (Agriculture/Livestock), Novel Medical College Teaching Hospital (Health/Education), and V.F. Services (Mauritius) Pvt. Ltd. (Highest income tax for turnover up to $500$ million NPR) were also part of the esteemed group.
CNI Commends National Contributors
The ceremony, which took place at the CNI Secretariat, saw CNI President Virendra Raj Pandey actively present the honors. President Pandey remarked that being a high taxpayer is not just a corporate or personal success; it is a profound and meaningful contribution to the nation and its progress.
He emphasized that CNI’s recognition serves to praise and value the role these high taxpayers actively play in bolstering the state’s resources.
The event witnessed the participation of several key CNI officials, including Vice Presidents Raj Bahadur Shah, Hem Raj Dhakal, and Amit Mor, along with Governance Council Member Bijay Shah, Revenue Committee Chairman Gopal Kumar Agrawal, and Director General Dr. Ghanshyam Ojha.
The gathering collectively celebrated the commitment of these leading enterprises to national economic responsibility and corporate transparency.
