Students can now apply for these documents through TU’s portal at student.tuexam.edu.np. This new system removes the need to visit the Examination Control Office in Balkhu. As a result, it saves time, effort, and cost for thousands of students across the country.
Until now, students had to fill out paper forms and wait in long lines. This often created delays, especially for students from outside the Kathmandu Valley. The new system allows them to apply from home using a computer or smartphone.
A Service Interrupted and Revived
Tribhuvan University introduced online services last year. But technical problems forced them to pause the system. Despite the early effort, the lack of smooth operation affected its continuation.
Now, TU has upgraded the system and brought it back into operation. According to officials, the new version is more stable and reliable.
Pushpa Raj Joshi, Controller of Examinations, confirmed the re-launch. He stated that the university developed its digital system without relying on external vendors. This internal platform is designed to handle TU’s specific needs.
How to Apply
The online process is simple. Students must first log into the portal using their details. Then, they can fill out the application form following clear instructions on the site.
After completing the form, they must pay the necessary fees through online banking. Once the payment is made, the application can be submitted.
The system checks the student’s academic records based on the registration card. If the data matches, the application is accepted directly. If there are mismatches, students can use the “correction option” to fix errors before submission.
More Services Coming Soon
Currently, the online service covers transcripts and provisional certificates only. However, TU has a bigger plan.
Joshi announced that all services provided by the Examination Control Office will go online by Jestha 15 (May 29). This includes migration certificates, character certificates, and more.
The university aims to digitize the entire examination process. This shift will improve speed, transparency, and access.
Benefits for Students
This move brings major benefits for students. Many live far from the capital and face challenges in traveling to the office. The new system helps them avoid that hassle.
In addition, the online process cuts down waiting time. It allows students to complete everything from home or even from mobile devices. They can apply at their convenience.
The university office also becomes less crowded. Staff can focus more on processing applications efficiently.
Positive Response and Expectations
The response from students and educators has been positive. They see this as a modern and necessary step for academic institutions in Nepal.
However, users also hope that the system will remain stable and easy to use. TU has promised to update the system regularly and respond to any issues quickly.
Conclusion
Tribhuvan University’s online service marks an important step toward digital transformation in higher education. By removing long-standing barriers, the university is creating a more student-friendly experience.
If the system runs smoothly and expands as planned, TU could set an example for other universities in Nepal to follow. The digital future of education in the country may just be getting started.
