In a significant milestone for the Indian two-wheeler industry, TVS Motor Company has proudly celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship Apache motorcycle series.
TVS Apache 20th Anniversary Edition
To commemorate two decades of performance and racing heritage, the company has introduced a special limited-edition lineup alongside new top-end variants of its popular RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V models.
This strategic move not only honors the brand’s legacy but also reaffirms its commitment to innovation and catering to the evolving demands of motorcycle enthusiasts.
The Apache journey, which began in 2005 with the RTR 150, has grown into a formidable series that includes the RTR 160, 180, 200, RTR 310, and the flagship RR 310.
Throughout its history, the Apache series has consistently set new benchmarks in the performance motorcycle segment, standing toe-to-toe with competitors like the Bajaj Pulsar, Yamaha FZ, and KTM Duke.
The brand’s success is deeply rooted in TVS’s four decades of rich racing experience, which has translated into cutting-edge, “Track-to-Road” technologies for its production bikes.
These innovations include a race-tuned fuel injection system, a slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts, and multiple ride modes for enhanced performance and safety.
To mark this momentous anniversary, TVS has launched limited-edition versions of its entire Apache range. These special models stand out with a distinctive and visually stunning black and champagne gold paint scheme, paying homage to the brand’s premium and sophisticated image.
The bikes also feature unique dual-tone alloy wheels and a commemorative 20th-anniversary logo, making them a true collector’s item for loyal Apache fans and new riders alike. In a first for the Apache series, a convenient USB charging port has been added, addressing a key need for modern riders on the go.
The celebration doesn’t stop there. TVS has also introduced significant upgrades to the new top-end variants of the RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V. Both models now feature a full-LED class-D projector headlamp with LED DRLs, providing superior illumination and a more aggressive, modern look.
The instrument cluster has been upgraded to a new 5-inch TFT screen, a feature previously seen on the flagship RTR 310, offering a premium and intuitive user interface.
This new display includes TVS’s SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and voice assist functionality, transforming the riding experience with seamless technology integration.
Performance-wise, the new variants retain their potent engines. The RTR 160 4V produces approximately 17 BHP, while the RTR 200 4V delivers about 20 BHP.
These bikes also come equipped with premium, rider-centric features like Urban, Rain, and Sport ride modes, which adjust the power delivery and ABS response to suit different riding conditions.
The RTR 200 4V, in particular, gets a significant safety boost with the addition of traction control, complementing its existing assist and slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. These features not only enhance performance but also provide riders with greater confidence and control.
The success of the Apache series is a testament to its enduring appeal and a clear reflection of TVS Motor Company’s commitment to delivering high-performance, feature-rich motorcycles.
So far, the Apache series has sold over 6.5 million units globally and is exported to more than 80 countries, solidifying its position as a truly global brand.
With the launch of these new limited-edition and upgraded models, TVS is not only celebrating its past achievements but also paving the way for the future of performance motorcycling.
