Uber, the renowned ride-sharing platform, has announced plans to integrate 1 lakh BYD cars into its fleet service. This significant expansion is set to begin in Europe and Latin America, following a landmark agreement between Uber and BYD.

The agreement outlines the sale of BYD cars to Uber drivers at a special price, along with simplified financing options. Additionally, the two companies have committed to jointly developing autonomous vehicle technology. The agreement specifies that BYD will create autonomous cars tailored for Uber’s platform, highlighting a future-focused partnership.

Despite recent high taxes imposed by Europe and the US to curb the influence of Chinese brand EVs, the Western media have deemed this agreement with Uber highly significant. Some commentators have noted that the deal underscores BYD’s unstoppable global ascent.

In collaboration with BYD, Uber aims to globalize its fleet service. The partnership plans to extend this service to the West, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, marking a substantial expansion of Uber’s operational footprint.

This strategic move not only enhances Uber’s service capabilities but also strengthens BYD’s position in the global electric vehicle market.
