United Academy Robo Fest 4.0: A Glimpse into the Future of Robotics and Innovation in Nepal
4th March 2026, Kathmandu
The future of technology took center stage in Kathmandu as Robo Fest 4.0 officially kicked off, showcasing an extraordinary display of talent, automation, and youth energy.
United Academy Robo Fest 4.0
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Kaviraj Bantawa and Mr. Narahang Rai, marking the start of Nepal’s most anticipated robotics exhibition.
From humanoid robots to intense “Robo Soccer” matches, the event proved that the Nepalese tech ecosystem is rapidly evolving.
Youth Innovation: High School Science Projects
Following the inauguration, the Board of Directors (BoDs), Dr. Bantawa and Mr. Rai, spent significant time observing stalls prepared by Grade 11 science students.
The exhibition featured projects ranging from Tilt Sensor Demonstrations to Smart Greenhouses, proving the innovative mindset of the younger generation.
The directors didn’t just observe; they engaged in deep technical discussions with the students. They provided critical reviews and constructive suggestions on how to:
-
Scale these inventions for industrial use.
-
Increase the efficiency of automation.
-
Improve presentation and pitching skills.
A highlight of the day occurred when a student-built machine sketched a portrait of Dr. Kaviraj Bantawa. Impressed by the precision of the automation, Dr. Bantawa rewarded the student with a cash prize of Rs. 100 on the spot.
Corporate Synergy and Global Tech Trends
Robo Fest 4.0 saw a strong presence from both corporate and academic sectors. Prestigious institutions like PCPS, Hub International, and Clamphook showcased their contributions to the local tech ecosystem.
However, the showstopper was the Humanoid Robot presented by Foton Motors. This advanced piece of engineering captivated students, teachers, and organizers alike, offering a first-hand look at the global strides being made in robotics.
High-Stakes Competition: Robo Soccer & Robo Sumo
The excitement peaked at the “Futsal Arena,” where the Robo Soccer and Robo Sumo competitions took place. Top schools from across the Kathmandu Valley, including KMC, Pragya Kunja, United School, United Universal School, Samriddhi School, Little Angels, and Ripumardini, battled for the top spots.
Robo Soccer Results:
Position | Winner Name | Institution | Prize Money
1st Place | Shriyans Jung KC | United Universal School | Rs. 32,000
2nd Place | Taal Rokaya | Pragya Kunja School | Rs. 21,000
3rd Place | Kiran Khatri | United School | Rs. 10,500
Building the Robotics Ecosystem in Nepal
At the ceremony, Chiranjibi Adhikari, Senior Vice President of the CAN Federation, delivered a powerful keynote. He emphasized that Robo Fest 4.0 is more than just a competition; it is a vital platform for nurturing “Child Insights” into technology.
“Robo Fest 4.0 is building the necessary foundation and ecosystem for the robotics industry in Nepal,” said Adhikari.
He stressed the importance of encouraging young minds to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to ensure Nepal remains competitive in the global digital economy.
As Robo Fest 4.0 concludes, it leaves behind a spark of curiosity and ambition among the next generation of Nepalese tech leaders. ICT Frame proudly serves as the official media partner for this landmark event.
