The Volkswagen engines have been in Nepal for some time now. And over the years, VW has gradually improved and upgraded their engine. Volkswagen brings the 2020 BS6 TSI Polo and BS6 TSI Vento to Nepal. It will be exciting to see what features and specs these models come up with. After all, the BS6 TSI is the most accomplished engine by VW yet!
Volkswagen TSI Engines
If you’re a VW fan, you’ve probably heard about the TSI engine. In simple words, VW TSI engines are the gas equivalent of the TDI engine. It means the TSI engines provide high performance with less fuel consumption!
TSI stands for turbocharged stratified injection. With the TSI engine, VW motors can deliver high torque at lower RPM.
For Nepal, the Polo and Vento come with the 1.0l TSI engine with a new 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.

If we look at the 1.0l TSI Polo, it has three cylinders. It gives fair competition to Hyundai’s 1.0l, three-cylinder TGDI motor.
Hyundai’s model delivers the power of 100 bhp and a torque of 172 Nm. The TSI engine of VW gives 108 bhp and 175 Nm of torque!
Features
VW Polo is a hatchback. So naturally, it will have fewer features compared to the VW Sedan, Vento!
Starting with Safety features, both the models get an Engine immobilizer, central lock, and child safety lock.
Both motors have front and rear fog lamps and a rear defogger. TSI Polo gets driver and passenger airbags.
TSI Vento gets additional side airbags as well.
Volkswagen Vento gets touchscreen infotainment with central control armrest, lane change indicator, power windows, power steering, and air conditioner.
VW Polo also gets all these features except for the infotainment system. However, it gets fabric upholstery and a rear spoiler that the Vento does not have.
It is not fair to compare a hatchback to its sedan brothers as they do not come under the same segment. On the other hand, Volkswagen’s Polo and Vento can give very good competition for their segment rivals with their BS6 TSI engine!
