The Bhaisepati plant has been in operation since 1984. This relocation marks a significant milestone for the brand as it enters a new phase of growth.
Decision Driven by Growth and Environmental Concerns
Wai Wai’s CEO, Pradeep Pudasaini, explained that the relocation was made after extensive discussions with stakeholders, including workers, who all agreed to the move. The decision was prompted by several factors, including concerns from residents and social groups regarding pollution and industrial impacts in the Bhainsepati area. The factory’s original location, once an open space for industrial activities, is now surrounded by dense residential development, which created operational challenges.
The company took environmental concerns seriously. They sought to ensure that the transition maintained environmental balance and aligned with their commitment to sustainability.
Smooth Transition for Workers
To prevent any disruption for the workers, Wai Wai offered special incentive packages. The company also provided opportunities for employees to transfer to other plants or offices in areas outside Kathmandu. Pudasaini assured that the company would take care of its workforce during this transition process.
Modernized Facility in Nawalparasi
The new factory in Nawalparasi has been upgraded with the latest production technologies. Chaudhary Group, which owns Wai Wai, has invested in state-of-the-art systems to boost production capacity and ensure high-quality products. This relocation is a key step in the company’s strategy to remain competitive in both domestic and international markets.
The new facility aims to not only increase production but also enhance the brand’s ability to meet growing consumer demand, both in Nepal and abroad. Wai Wai intends to maintain its strong position in the global market through constant innovation and investment in technology.
Aiming for Future Expansion
The factory move is part of a broader plan to strengthen Wai Wai’s production capacity and quality. As one of Nepal’s leading FMCG brands, the company is focusing on long-term growth and sustainability. Wai Wai’s management believes that the new factory will help the brand expand and improve its offerings.
By upgrading its production processes, Wai Wai is positioning itself to compete more effectively on the international stage. The relocation to the CG Industrial Park is a strategic move that aligns with the company’s vision of growth, quality enhancement, and market competitiveness.
