There may be times when you need to seek answers or views from others. For example, suppose you’re arranging a trip with your friends and want to choose a destination together from a list of options.

This is where WhatsApp’s soon-to-be-released feature might come in handy. WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is reportedly working on an interesting feature. The company intends to provide an “essential” new feature that will allow users to start and participate in polls in group conversations.

The latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 22.6.0.70), as reported by WABetaInfo, has hints of a feature that allows users to create polls within group conversations.

This function is already present in competitor messaging applications Viber and even on Twitter, which allows users to post polls and allow others to vote and view the results. Now, it seems that WhatsApp plans on rolling out this feature to its userbase too since it is currently in development.

The publication also released a screenshot, which gives us a sneak peek at the future function. When you create a poll, the app will initially prompt you to enter a question. Following that, you’d most likely need to enter a few answers for users to vote on.

The report also mentions that only the group members would be able to see the polls and results, which would make sense.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is working on several of the new features and improvements, including a pause and resume option for voice messaging, message reactions, the addition of a search shortcut to contacts’ data pages, and a redesigned layout for voice conversations. Because some of these features are only accessible in the app’s beta version, you must join the testing program on the Play Store.

FAQs

I’ve installed the most recent update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop but some of these features are not enabled. Why?

Some features may be under development, so they are not available to beta testers, or they are rolled out to some users. In both cases, you need to wait for a future update. Read more to discover the details
