Who is Bikram Timilsina?
A representative from Nuwakot Constituency No. 1, Dr. Timilsina, defeated heavyweight candidate Prakash Sharan Mahat of the Nepali Congress by securing 22,609 votes.
Academic Brilliance & Expertise
The 43-year-old minister hails from Panchakanya, Nuwakot, and brings a wealth of international academic exposure to the cabinet:
PhD in International Relations: Earned from Griffith University, Australia (School of Government and International Relations).
Higher Education: Master’s in International Relations from the University of Queensland and an MA in English from Tribhuvan University.
Professional Background: Before his political career, he served as a professor at the National Armed Police Force Academy and TU, focusing on governance, policy, and anti-corruption studies.
From Media to Ministry
Dr. Timilsina is no stranger to the communication sector, having started his journey as a media professional at Radio Sagarmatha. He has also led research initiatives at the Asian Institute for Advanced Research, specifically working on the financial inclusion of persons with disabilities.
