Purpose of the Award: Fostering Global Scientific Contributions
The core purpose of the Prof. Yoo Hang Kim Young Women Scientists Award is to enable talented women scientists, early in their careers, to attend and present their groundbreaking original research at international or inter-organizational scientific conferences. By supporting their presence at high-impact scientific forums, the award contributes to global scientific discourse and provides invaluable international exposure.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
To be considered for the Prof. Yoo Hang Kim Young Women Scientists Award 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
PhD Recency: Must be within 5 years of earning their Ph.D. (note: there is no age limit for applicants).
Residency: Applicants must reside in the country of their nationality.
Field: Must be early-career scientists working in STEM fields.
Research Experience: Preference will be given to those who have a proven track record of presenting or publishing original research at internationally recognized conferences or journals.
Conference Acceptance: Must have received acceptance to present their research at an AASSA-recognized scientific conference, specifically one held in an Asian country.
Award Amount and Coverage
Each selected awardee will receive a substantial amount of up to USD 2,000. This funding is designed to cover essential expenses related to conference participation, including:
Round-trip economy-class airfare.
Conference registration fees.
Accommodation costs.
Per diem expenses.
Funds will be disbursed as a reimbursement upon the submission of original invoices and verifiable proof of participation. Additionally, local academies may offer matched funds for specific reimbursement items, further supporting the awardees.

Required Documents Checklist:
Official nomination letter on your academy/society letterhead.
The completed application form.
Nomination acceptance letter.
Self-attested copy of your Ph.D. certificate.
A comprehensive list of your peer-reviewed publications or three major research papers published in reputed international journals.
Your conference acceptance letter indicates that your research presentation has been accepted.
Important Note: All submitted documents must be authentic and self-attested. Any false submissions will result in the immediate voiding of the nomination.

Nomination Conditions: Key Guidelines
Nominations can only be submitted by AASSA member academies/societies located in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
Applicants from Highly Developed Countries (HDCs) and G20 nations are not eligible.
An international society or organization of high repute within STEM fields must organize the chosen conference.
