HTC announced the new HTC One E9 smartphone in May 2015 and released it the same month that comes up with an Android OS v5.0 (Lollipop) which is planned to upgrade to v6.0 (Marshmallow). This phone has a dimension of 156.5 x 76.5 x 7.5 mm (6.16 x 3.01 x 0.30 in) with 7.5 mm thickness and weighs about 147 grams.
This phone supports GSM/ HSPA/ LTE network configurations. It uses Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) technology. The display is of 16 M colors and has AMOLED capacities touchscreen. The screen size is 5.5 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 69.7%. The screen resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels which is precisely 401 PPI pixel density.
It supports multi touch and comes up with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with HTC Sense UI 7.0. It has got Mediatek MT6795M Helio X10 chipset, and CPU comprises of Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processors. The GPU used is Power VR G6200. The internal memory available is 16 GB containing 2 GB RAM. It also supports micro SD slot that could be upgraded up to 128 GB (dedicated slot).
The primary camera comprises of a 13 MP, f/2.2, 28 mm, autofocus and LED flash camera while secondary consists of 4 MP, f/2.0, 27 mm, 1/3″ sensor size, 2µm pixel size, 1080 p@30 fps and HDR. The camera features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and HDR.
The microphone jack is 3.55 mm with Dolby Audio and has got stereo loudspeakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, and hotpots. The Bluetooth version is v4.1, A2DP, apt-X. It also comes with NFC connection and the GPS technology used is A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS. It also contains FM radio. It also comes with compass, accelerator, gyro and proximity sensors.
The USB available is micro USB v2.0. The messaging can be performed via MMS, SMS threaded view, Email and Push mail. The battery used is a Non-removable Li-Po 2800 mAH battery. The colors available are Black and White. The main disadvantages of this phone are the battery is Non-removable battery, no fast charger provided and there is no Infrared port.
