Bajaj Auto introduced this popular 160cc sport-naked machine with significant cosmetic and safety upgrades. A major highlight is the inclusion of eye-catching Gold USD (Upside-Down) Forks, a feature that immediately elevates the bike’s sporty and premium appeal.
This move solidifies Bajaj’s position in the fiercely competitive 160cc segment. The launch focuses on delivering performance, style, and enhanced safety features to discerning riders.
New Variants and Pricing Strategy
Bajaj Auto is strategically making the Pulsar N160 accessible to a wider audience by launching it in a total of 4 distinct variants to cater to every budget and preference.
These variants include the Single Seat Twin Disc (Standard Model), Dual-Channel ABS with Standard Suspension, the New Single Seat USD Fork model, and the Top-Spec USD Fork Plus Dual ABS (Premium Model).
This strategic variant lineup allows customers to prioritize features like advanced braking or the premium suspension setup, all while keeping the pricing competitive to make these upgrades an attractive proposition.
Performance and Engine Specifications
The heart of the new Pulsar N160 remains a proven and reliable power unit, retaining the 164.82cc single-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 16 PS at 8750 rpm and peak torque of 14.65 Nm at 6750 rpm.
This engine is paired with a smooth 5-speed gearbox and is known for its strong mid-range torque, which translates into effortless city commuting and confident highway overtakes.
Suspension and Braking System
Safety and handling have received a considerable boost. The suspension now varies based on the model, with lower variants featuring standard telescopic front forks and top-spec models boasting the new Gold USD Forks, complemented by a reliable Monoshock setup at the rear across all variants.
Braking performance is managed by a 300 mm front disc brake and a 230 mm rear disc brake. Bajaj offers both Single-Channel ABS and the more advanced Dual-Channel ABS, allowing riders to choose their preferred level of safety technology for superior control.
Advanced Technology and Features
The new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is packed with modern technological features, aligning it with current industry standards.
Key features include a Bi-functional LED Projector Headlight for superior illumination, LED DRLs, a stylish Glitter Pattern LED Taillight, a USB Mobile Charging Port, a Dual ABS Ride Mode Display, and Turn-by-Turn Navigation on the top-end variant.
Dimensions and Ergonomics
While the mechanical components saw changes, the core dimensions and ergonomics of the Pulsar N160 have been wisely retained to maintain the bike’s comfortable and established riding posture.
The dimensions include a 1348 mm wheelbase, 795 mm seat height, 165 mm ground clearance, 152 kg kerb weight, and a 14 liter fuel tank capacity, ensuring the bike remains agile in city traffic while being stable on the highway, reinforcing its sporty character.
