Nepal Gears Up for Its First-Ever FinTech Exhibition to Drive Digital Transformation
Nepal FinTech Exhibition Digital
12th December 2025, Kathmandu
The financial landscape of Nepal is rapidly changing. To showcase the swift advancements and deep shifts in banking and service delivery, the nation is set to host its very first dedicated financial-technology exhibition.
Nepal FinTech Exhibition Digital
This landmark event, the Nepal FinTech Exhibition Digital Transformation, promises to be a catalyst for innovation and collaboration within the country’s digital economy.
A Hub for Innovation: The FinTech Expo
The FinTech Alliance Nepal (FAN) is organizing the exhibition. It is scheduled to take place on January 2nd and 3rd, 2026 (18th and 19th Poush) at Heritage Garden in Sanepa, Kathmandu. The event will feature the latest in financial technology products and services.
Key Participants and Exhibits
The expo is expected to host between 60 to 65 stalls. A diverse group of service and hardware providers will participate. These include:
-
Data Center Providers: Essential infrastructure for the digital age.
-
KYC/AML Service Providers: Focusing on regulatory compliance and security.
-
QR Service Providers: Showcasing the latest in mobile payment technology.
-
Data Analytics & AI Service Providers: Highlighting machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in finance.
-
Payment Service Operators (PSOs): Driving the core of digital transactions.
-
Hardware Providers: Featuring POS terminals, ATMs, and Kiosk devices.
Focus on Future-Proofing Finance
Amit Agrawal, President of FinTech Alliance Nepal and co-founder/Director of IME Khalti, emphasized the need for innovation. He stated that the expo would highlight the necessity of Research and Development (R&D). This includes preparing for future customers, such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha, who may transact using voice commands.
Agrawal stressed that financial institutions must begin investing in R&D now. Crucial areas include using AI for fraud detection, managing disputes and risks, and ensuring a seamless user experience. Neglecting this investment means falling behind the global curve of digital transformation.
Regulatory Support and Policy Dialogue
The Alliance has secured support from crucial regulatory bodies. These supporters include Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN).
Devendra Khadka, Vice President of the Alliance, noted that this regulatory involvement underscores the event’s significance. It will serve as a platform for policy dialogue and constructive collaboration between innovators and rule-makers.
Nurturing the Startup Culture
The organizers are actively promoting emerging talent. They have allocated up to ten ‘Startup Tables’ to encourage and showcase new ventures.
Furthermore, complimentary tables are being offered to various tech communities—like AI, Open Source, Python, and Java groups—on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers anticipate over 4,000 participants will attend the two-day event.
Driving Innovation and Collaboration
The Learning & Development Chair of FinTech Alliance Nepal and Chief Operating Officer of Nepal Clearing House Limited, expressed optimism about the inaugural event. She believes the expo will inject new enthusiasm into Nepal’s digital financial sector.
The core objective of hosting this expo, she noted, is to incentivize innovation and strengthen policy dialogue alongside financial sector collaboration. The ultimate goal is to ensure that users and businesses can benefit fully from tech-driven financial facilities.
The Global Perspective
The Alliance recognizes the rapid pace of global financial digital transformation. They felt the exhibition was essential to ensure Nepal does not lag. The B2B-style expo is designed specifically to harmonize and integrate Nepal’s digital financial ecosystem.
The event is accessible to all. A nominal entry fee of NPR 100 has been set for general attendees, and NPR 50 for students, making the latest in financial technology accessible to everyone. The Nepal FinTech Exhibition Digital Transformation is poised to be a pivotal moment for the country’s tech future.
