Nepal Telecom to Launch ‘Subscription-Based’ Model for Prepaid Users: No More Monthly Package Re-purchase
28th June 2026, Kathmandu
In a major move to enhance customer convenience, Nepal Telecom (NTC) is set to introduce a subscription-based model for its prepaid users.
Nepal Telecom Subscription-Based Model
Aligned with the government’s 100-day action plan under the ‘Delivery-Based Governance’ commitment, this new system will offer hassle-free package renewals starting this Sunday.
Minister for Information and Communications, Dr. Bikram Timalsina, announced that the new feature aims to streamline telecom services for millions of prepaid subscribers across Nepal.
What is the NTC Prepaid Subscription-Based Model?
Once this system is implemented, prepaid users will no longer need to manually subscribe to data or voice packages every month. Under the new subscription-based model, users can select and subscribe to their preferred package just once. The system will then automatically renew the package at the end of the validity period, provided the user has a sufficient main balance.
This automated process eliminates the hassle of tracking expiry dates and manually re-purchasing telecom packs.
Part of the Government’s 100-Day Priority Plan
Sharing the announcement on his official Facebook page, Minister Dr. Bikram Timalsina stated:
“In accordance with the commitment related to Delivery-Based Governance under item No. 2 of the government’s 100-day action plan, Nepal Telecom will make various packages available under the Subscription-Based Model for pre-paid users starting tomorrow (Sunday).”
More Attractive Packages on the Way
To cater to the diverse digital needs of its consumer base, Nepal Telecom is also planning to roll out additional tailored and attractive packages under this auto-renewal ecosystem.
The official details regarding the specific package structures, pricing, and terms and conditions will be formally released by Nepal Telecom.
