To bridge the gap between high school education and the technology industry, PCPS College, in collaboration with NEB Result and News, successfully organized ‘Hack4Impact’ from Shrawan 20 to 22.
Designed exclusively for recent Plus Two (+2) graduates, this intensive three-day hackathon brought together aspiring software developers, UI/UX designers, content creators, and young entrepreneurs to build actionable tech solutions for real-world social challenges.
Industry Vision: Diversity as a Driver for Tech Solutions.
The event opened with an insightful keynote address from Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation and Founder/CEO of One Cover Private Limited. Speaking from an industry leader’s perspective, he emphasized that solving complex socio-economic problems in Nepal requires fostering diverse, multi-disciplinary teams early in their careers.
“The more diverse perspectives, the wider the range of potentially viable solutions a collection of problem solvers can find for Nepalese societal problems,” Adhikari stated, encouraging young innovators to look beyond standard technical parameters and tackle real-world community issues.
Participants navigated a structured innovation lifecycle over 72 hours: Team Formation: Assembling cross-functional skill sets across technical, business, and design domains.
Challenge Setting & Ideation: Identifying systemic local challenges and brainstorming viable technology-first frameworks.
Prototyping & Mentorship: Transforming abstract concepts into functional software models alongside industry mentors. Pitching & Business Validation: Presenting scalable prototypes to seasoned tech founders, product professionals, and judges.
