10th August 2026, Kathmandu
The Citizen Life Professional Insurance Agents Association Nepal has officially been established with the primary objective of promoting successful insurance business practices, developing capable insurance agents, and protecting organized professional interests.
Citizen Life Professional Insurance Agents Association
The foundational convention of the association took place on Sunday at Sky Restaurant located in Samakhusi, Kathmandu.
During the inaugural convention, a new executive committee was unanimously elected under the leadership and chairmanship of Sapta Kumar Humagain.
The event was organized under the central slogan: Successful Insurance Business, Capable Agents, Organized Professional Interests Our Commitment.
The gathering was officially inaugurated with the traditional lighting of a ceremonial lamp, with program coordination led by Manmaya Shrestha.
Deepak Aryal, Vice President of the Professional Insurance Agents Association Nepal, attended the convention as the chief guest.
Emphasizing Professional Rights Ethical Practices and Policy Role
Addressing the inaugural assembly, chief guest Deepak Aryal highlighted the crucial need for insurance agents to convert emerging industry opportunities into long term professional success.
He stated that the central motivation behind establishing the association is to foster professional growth, enhance agent competencies, and protect the legitimate rights of field representatives.
Aryal stressed the importance of eliminating negative industry practices such as mis selling and misleading potential clients.
He noted that the association will work proactively toward developing competent, ethical, and well trained insurance agents across Nepal.
Furthermore, Aryal clarified that the association has not been formed to create conflict with insurance companies.
Instead, the organization aims to strengthen professional cooperation between insurance management and field agents while providing an institutional platform to raise legitimate agent concerns.
He also advocated for greater involvement of insurance agents in high level policy formulation.
Aryal noted that agents make indispensable contributions to the expansion of the national insurance sector by acquiring new policyholders, maintaining policy renewals, and extending insurance coverage within their own families and local communities.

The inaugural convention was organized into two distinct operational phases.
The first phase focused on thorough discussions regarding the operational dynamics of the Nepali insurance sector, the professional rights of agents, and the long term objectives of the new association.
